What does a Parent Support Adviser do?
Janet is here to offer support, advice, guidance and a listening ear to parents of school children.
This is a confidential service that can support you with:
- Parenting concerns
- Behaviour management
- School attendance/lateness
- School transition
- Confidence building
- Mental wellbeing
- Relationship breakdown
- Bullying
- Getting back to work or education
- Local services/information
- Housing/financial issues
- Any other family related worry
How do they do it?
Parent Support Advisers give support to families in many different way including:
- One to one contacts
- Meetings in school
- Parenting courses
- Triple P Parenting courses
- Telephone contact
- Text message/e-mail contact
- Signposting to other services
- Advocacy - speaking on your behalf

Parenting is not an easy job and sometimes, things can get tough. Your Parent Support Adviser is here to help.
What is the main aim of the Parent Support Adviser?
The main aim of the service is to help parents to:
- Improve their parenting skills
- Engage in their child's learning
- Improve school attendance and lateness
If you have concerns regarding younger children who attend a primary school in the Horndean/Clanfield/Rowlands Castle areas please speak to your Headteacher about a referral to Janet.
